For the first time, a BCHL team is holding a prospects camp in Las Vegas. The BCHL West Kelowna Warriors – one of the best teams in the league – have their top staff including head coach Rylan Ferster in town for a camp which begins today at the SoBe Ice Arena on North Rancho Drive.

The Las Vegas players include Vito Carlo, Alec Mono and Ethan Montoya. Vito, who skated for the AAA Utah Regulators 16u last winter, was earlier at the USHL Combine and already has received main camp offers from five USHL teams and two NAHL teams.

After this weekend Vito will be off to the USHL Tri-City Storm camp, the Global Hockey Showcase at the Las Vegas Ice Center and the Great Western Futures Supercamp at the SoBe Ice Arena.  In August, Vito plans to return to Utah to play for the West Coast Renegades 16u club.

This text came in last night from Eddie Del Grosso, a top defenseman for the ECHL Las Vegas Wranglers.

“….plan to go back to Europe to play. Most likely in Germany.”

Eddie’s teammate Chris Francis has an offer to play in Hungary this fall.

The ECHL Idaho Steelheads extended the contract of head coach Brad Ralph for two more seasons. “Our goal is to bring the Kelly Cup back home to Boise,” Brad said last night.
