Jake Hamilton, a rugged player from Chicago, and Parker Lewis, a skilled defenseman from Riverton, Utah, are two AAA Las Vegas Storm 18u alums who are in town for the BCHL West Kelowna Las Vegas Prospects Camp this weekend at the SoBe Ice Arena.

Hamilton is 6’1, 185 and a ’95. Lewis is 6’0, 180 and is also a ’95. Both played for coach Eddie Samuels with the Storm. Eddie is now a Western scout for his former junior coach, Rylan Ferster who is head coach of the West Kelowna Warriors, one of the best teams in the BCHL.

The Las Vegas players include Alec Mono who last winter played for the AAA Cleveland Barons and the AAA Oakland Grizzlies.

Vito Carlo, Ethan Montoya are among the other local players skating. Both are exciting goal scorers. The best players selected by the Warriors coaches will get an invite to the team’s main camp in the fall.

Terry Martin, an elite goalie for UNLV Rebels, has returned home to Canada for the summer. That was alarming news for the Tour Rebels NARCh pro roller team as Martin was their #1 goalie.  The Rebels have tracked down a new goalie, Mike Urbano from SoCal.

Nick Robone of the Rebels said “…Mike has played NARCh Pro before for the Reebok team. He took some time off and wanted to get back in it. We’re still looking for a goalie for the NARCh Nationals so we are hoping he will be that guy.”

The Rebels return to practice Tuesday to wire in for a NARCh Qualifier in Huntington Beach, Ca., next weekend.

AAA Las Vegas Storm alum goalie Talon Miller is home in Bird’s Creek, Alaska this week. He is mulling over his opportunities where to play for the upcoming season.
