Special to Vegashockey.net

A member of our Alaskan Hockey family, Justin Woods of Fairbanks was diagnosed earlier this month with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. The good news is they caught it early, and Justin is a young and strong man; the prognosis is good, and the doctors expect him to play hockey again.

Justin began chemotherapy Thursday May 22nd at the Seattle Childrens Hospital where he will spend the next nine months receiving treatment.

A special fund has been set up to help Justin and his family deal with the costs involved in getting him healthy and back on the ice again.

They are hoping to raise 20,000 to help with the expenses.
