It’s the best time of the year – Thanksgiving week. Some Las Vegas players are heading home to be with their families while some skaters are off to holiday tournaments.

Eddie is home in Las Vegas. He will help hockey mom Mary Margaret prepare the turkey and have dinner with his brother Rich and his son and roller player Jimmy Samuels. Years ago Eddie skated on the ‘Red Line’ with Josh Jasek and Adam Naglich on a dynamic Rob Pallin-coached 2001-02 AA Las Vegas Mustangs midget major team which won Pacific Region gold and played in the U.S. Nationals.

“They do not have Thanksgiving Day in Hungary so I will be going to a few restaurants to look for a nice turkey dinner. My mom is cooking right now for my three brothers and sister Blanche in our hometown of Chisholm, Minnesota. Our Fehervar AV19 team in Hungary is 11-9-1 overall and in sixth place. The Top 8 teams go into the playoffs. We do not take a holiday break – we have games this weekend. I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone back in Las Vegas.

Hockey dad Dave says “Steven is home for Thanksgiving. We are going to have a nice dinner with Steven and his girlfriend Morgan at the house. He will be heading back to CU Boulder the Saturday after Thanksgiving.”

Hockey mom Wendy says “Kyle has been up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for ten days- deer hunting – got his first buck – 6 pointer. I think he’ll be celebrating with his girlfriend Shelby’s family- they fly back to Vegas. We are heading up to Michigan to have Thanksgiving with my parents – we should see them at the Appleton airport – we will be getting off the plane as they get on. Typically Mike grills a bird and everyone comes over. Kyle loves turkey and mash potatoes – and there always has to be Kings Hawaiian rolls- his favorite! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hockey grandfather Ivan says “my wife Roberta and I along with our son Peter and his wife just got back from Bemidji after spending the weekend with Cory, where the temperature never got above 10. That being said we understand that some longtime Bemidji State fans have opened their homes for Thanksgiving dinner to players who will not be going home.”

“I will be feeding the elderly in the morning at a home. In the afternoon I will be with family and friends. We will be having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and of course, pumpkin pie.

“Our family will be split up this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving at our house will be Wednesday as Cameron has a tournament out of town and they leave Thursday morning.

Everyone will be there except for Jason and I.

I am currently out of town following Jason with the Minnesota Wild watching Lightning, Panthers and Kings games so I will be with Jason on Thanksgiving Day.

Hockey mom Rosie says “Vito is coming home to celebrate his brother’s birthday and to have an early Thanksgiving dinner with the family. His U16 AAA team will be traveling to Dallas the day after Thanksgiving to play a series of round robin games with Hockey Club Dallas.”

Hockey dad Pete says …”Mike will get on a flight and head home Tuesday night Nov 25th. His older brother Joe will drive in from Anaheim also. Thanksgiving dinner is at my home and my sister and her family along with my dad and his wife will be here. My wife Terry will cook along with my dads wife. Looking forward to it. Happy Thanksgiving to all.”

“The family is going to my parents house for Thanksgiving. My mom and dad cook. It will be early afternoon since I have to leave for a tournament with our Bantam AA team later that day. My favorite foods are my Dad’s turkey and dressing and my mom’s homemade sweet potatoes.

Hockey dad Orlando says “Ethan is going to be home for Thanksgiving. His Nana will be cooking his turkey and his Tita (both are his grandmothers) will be making the sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. Then Ethan will head back to his team on Saturday for a Sunday game against the Anaheim Jr Ducks.
