Special to Vegashockey.net

Fresno –  Goalie Cody Murch, who played spectacularly vs division leader Valencia Flyers last weekend, will start for the WSHL Las Vegas Storm against a very strong 30-12-0 Fresno Monsters team at the Gateway Ice Center.

Cody has a 2.54 gaa in his two starts for Las Vegas.

“We talked to Cody awhile back,” said Las Vegas coach Gabe Gauthier. “He was playing for the AAA Cal Wave. Their season ended before we had our roster lock so we signed him. In the net he is solid with his positioning and his big frame takes up a lot of the net. He makes the saves he should make and then some.”

This will be the final regular-season road trip for Las Vegas. There are six games remaining on the schedule – three here in Fresno, then next week a three-game home series with the Arizona Hawks at the Las Vegas Ice Center.

Tonight’s game begins 7:45 pm. The Friday, Saturday games start 5:30 pm.

UNLV coach Anthony Greener on the mega showdown against San Diego State in an ACHA Western Regional playoff game this Friday in Logan, Utah:

“Since I was a kid playing the game your big stars have to step up. It’s not something you learn over time. Bigtime players show up in big time games. It’s something you are born with. Either you have it or you don’t. I believe we have a lot of bigtime players and people will see that this weekend.”
