INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Sarah Robello of Las Vegas and the Mercyhurst women’s ice hockey team will meet second-ranked Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinal round, as announced by the national body on Sunday night. The contest will take place on Saturday, March 12.

The Mercyhurst Lakers (19-10-5) won both the College Hockey America regular-season and tournament championships — the latter of which rewarded the team with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Mercyhurst claimed the berth with a 4-3 overtime victory against Syracuse in the CHA Tournament final.

Sarah this season has 6 goals, 6 assists for Mercyhurst. She has played in 23 games.

The Lakers and Badgers are no strangers, having met eight different times, although each time has resulted in a Wisconsin victory. The programs have played one another five times in the regular season and three times in the NCAA Tournament, including meeting in the 2009 NCAA Tournament final.

Wisconsin (34-3-1) is No. 2 on the national bracket, behind only top-ranked Boston College (38-0-0), which will host Northeastern (28-8-1) in the quarterfinals. Four-seed Quinnipiac (30-2-5) will host Clarkson (29-4-5) and three-seed Minnesota (32-4-1) will host Princeton (22-8-2).
