Special to

Las Vegas goal scorer Gage Quinney today was assigned by the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins to report to the AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa. Penguins.

Gage is coming off an awesome season in the WHL. He began the season with the defending champions WHL Kelowna Rockets, then was traded to the WHL Kamloops Blazers where he scored 27 goals in the regular season, then three more goals in the playoffs.

Gage grew up in Las Vegas playing on Nevada Stars youth teams at the Las Vegas Ice Center. His younger brother Landon is playing for the WHL Moose Jaw Warriors.
