St. Louis – It’s Opening Night for Jason Zucker of Las Vegas and the NHL Minnesota Wild who will take on the St. Louis Blues before a sold out Scottrade Center here tonight. It will be the debut too of new Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau who previously was the long-time head coach of the NHL Anaheim Ducks.
Jason, 24, has been working in practices on a Wild line with center Zac Dalpe and right wing Jason Pominville. Including playoff games Jason has played in 190 NHL games. He has a career NHL total of 45 goals, 23 assists. He last played in Las Vegas for a AAA Nevada Storm 16u team in 2006-07 at the Las Vegas Center. Wally Lacroix was the head coach.
Jason is the first and only Las Vegas player in the NHL. One of Jason’s best friends on the Wild is Charlie Coyle who was the Best Man at Jason and Carly’s wedding last spring.
In Las Vegas Jason’s brother Evan – an awesome goal scorer himself – now coaches with the WSHL Las Vegas Storm junior team and youngest brother Cameron plays for the AAA Nevada Storm 16u team at the Las Vegas Ice Center. Another brother Adam also played in ice hockey. Jason’s sister Kimmee has played in roller and ice hockey in Las Vegas.
Minnesota will play St. Louis here tonight, then head home to take on the Winnipeg Jets in a home opening game at the Excel Energy Center on Saturday night.
