UNLV REBELS 3, BOSTON UNIVERSITY 2
Las Vegas – Cody Williams, Axle Anderton scored and Tristan Mayer got the game winner for UNLV in a 3-2 firefight of a win over Boston University at the Sobe Ice Arena. Rebels goalie Erik Eidissen was in net, was spectacular for the second straight night and got the win. Coach Nick Robone of UNLV said “….this was a much different game than we had on Friday night. Boston is a well-coached, physical hockey team and they battled extremely hard. Coach (Anthony) Greener and I were pleased with our team’s grit and toughness. Erik was solid in the net. Now we set our sights on Long Beach State for next week.”
WSHL OGDEN MUSTANGS 7, WSHL LAS VEGAS STORM 1
Ogden, Utah – The Ogden Mustangs ran their season record to 12-0-0 with a 7-1 win over Las Vegas. JC Lachapelle scored for the Storm with assists from Alex Roth and Weston Walker. Las Vegas coach Gabe Gauthier said the Ogden Mustangs are an older veteran team much like the powerful Long Beach Bombers. Las Vegas and Ogden close out a three-game weekend here at The Ice Sheet on Sunday.
AAA NEVADA STORM 16U 5, WENATCHEE WILD 0
Blaine, Minnesota – Tyler Brooks had two goals, Cameron Zucker one and Zach McClanahan and Daine Whittet scored for the AAA Nevada Storm 16u in a 5-0 win over the Wenatchee Wild at the NAHL Future Prospects Tournament.
“We had a great game while only allowing seven shots,” said Las Vegas coach Micah Sanford.
Cameron Birchell was in net for Las Vegas.
MINNESOTA ELITE PREP DEVELOPMENTAL 16U 3, AAA NEVADA STORM 0
Blaine, Minnesota – Las Vegas coach Micah Sanford said “we actually played real well but just could not capitalize on our scoring chances. This was a very even game but we just need to clean up a few areas of our game and the score could have been different. This was a game which could have gone either way.” Anthony Bonaldi was in net for Las Vegas.
Joe Sullivan of Las Vegas scored for St. Lawrence in a 6-3 road loss to Providence…Michael McNicholas scored for New Hampshire in a 4-3 loss to Colorado College…
Brendan Harris of Las Vegas had a goal and an assist for the BCHL Wenatchee Wild in a big 4-3 road win over the Chilliwack Chiefs
