Las Vegas coach Rob Pallin is coaching HC Innsbruck in Austria this season. He sends along this hometown hockey update:

“This is very interesting, what a small world we live in.

“Hockey coach Konstantin Lodnia’s son Vanya is ranked between 10-20 for the 2017 NHL Draft.

“And, do you remember those great battles (2000-02) between our Las Vegas Mustang teams and Konstantin’s Long Beach Ice Dogs? Every game made every player better. We had to play hard every moment to be successful vs Konstantin coached teams. He used to tell us ‘your team is so hard to play against.”

“His son Vanya Lodnia plays for the Erie Otters in the OHL. He is 5’10, 180, has 8 goals, 7 assists in 15 games this season.”
