Las Vegas – UNLV’s star goalie Terry Martin who has been out of the lineup with a hand injury much of the season will get the start when the Rebels battle one of its most fierce rivals in San Jose State at the SoBe Ice Arena on North Rancho Drive on Friday night with a 5 pm faceoff.

UNLV coach Anthony Greener, who years ago skated for UNLV vs San Jose State in many big games when he was an active Rebel, made the announcement today.

UNLV is having a phenomenal season at 18-3-0 but is not taking San Jose State lightly Greener said.

“When I played with coach Rob (Pallin) it always seemed liked San Jose State was a Top 5 club. So for me this is a big rivalry series (Friday, Saturday) and we need to treat the games that way. We need to finish off this semester and get two wins. If we play our game, follow the game plan and play our systems we will be fine.”

UNLV’s top line Friday will be Tristan Mayer, Cody Williams and Viktor Brask. Cody, a dynamic high-speed skater who blasts towards enemy nets, leads the Rebels with 19 goals this season. Brask has 17 goals.

“We are sticking with our same lines. We’re not messing with much because all is working very well right now,” Greener said.
