Las Vegas –  The WSHL Las Vegas Storm won a fierce physical firefight in the first half of game, then a strong Wichita Jr Thunder team rallied to win 5-3 in a Western States Shootout game at the Las Vegas Ice Center on Monday evening.

Isaiah Letendre scored two goals – his 15th, 16th – and Amandus Laukkanen got his 4th for Las Vegas which led 3-1 going into the second half of the game. Spencer Kozlowski was in the net for the Storm. 

On Tuesday Las Vegas will close out play against the Superior Roughriders at the Las Vegas Ice Center at 8 am.

From the Blue Line –  There were a number of extremely hard checks and a scrap in this fiercely played game….A number Las Vegas alumni players were at the game including Brendan Harris, Landon Quinney, Dylan Miller, Alec Mono and Jimmy Samuels.

Las Vegas – Number One goalie Spencer Kozlowski of the WSHL Las Vegas Storm will get the start today – Monday – in a big game against the Wichita Jr Thunder at the Las Vegas Ice Center. Kozlowski, who Las Vegas acquired from the WSHL Valencia Flyers a few weeks ago is 3-0-0 with a 2.14 gaa and a 92.3% save percentage.

Las Vegas is on a five game win streak which includes a 2-0-0 start here in the Western States Shootout which began this past weekend. 

“Wichita has a big team, very offensive and physical,” said Gabe Gauthier, GM and head coach of the WSHL Las Vegas Storm. 

Wichita beat the Vancouver Rangers 10-6 on Sunday at the SoBe Ice Arena in Las Vegas.

Kozlowski, 19,  is from Vancouver, BC and has performed at a high level in the net for Las Vegas. Faceoff is at 5 pm.
