St. Paul, Minnesota – Jason Zucker of Las Vegas ignited a sellout crowd of 19,307 – the biggest hometown crowd of the season – when he scored dramatically on a breakaway at the Xcel Energy Center on New Year’s Eve. Jason scored seconds into the third period for the NHL Minnesota Wild in a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets who won their 15th straight game.
Minnesota took a 12-game win streak into this game. It was Jason’s 9th goal of the season. He and the Wild now are preparing to begin a three-game road trip against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
