St. Paul, Minnesota – Jason Zucker of Las Vegas scored a dramatic third period goal – his 19th goal of the season – on a spinning wrist shot and then teammate Mikael Granlund scored spectacularly 12 seconds into OT as the NHL Minnesota Wild beat the LA Kings 5-4 at the Xcel Engery Center.
The game was hard with very heavy checking and had a playoff feel to it before a sold-out crowd of 19,110. Minnesota is now 40-14-6 and the LA Kings are 30-27-5.
Jason this season has 19 goals, 23 assists. The Wild is looking to go deep in the upcoming NHL playoffs.

Michael McNicholas of Las Vegas and New Hampshire University open a best of three Hockey East playoff series against Merrimack on Friday, March 3. Michael and New Hampshire have a season record of 12-17-5 and are seeded #10. They will take on #7 seed Merrimack at the J Thom Lawler Arena in Andover, Massachusetts. Michael, 22, is a junior at New Hampshire. He has 11 goals, 27 assists for 38 points this season.
Joe Sullivan of Las Vegas and #20 nationally ranked St. Lawrence University have received a bye in the first round of the ECAC playoffs which begin this Friday. St. Lawrence has a season record of 16-11-7. This is the third straight season St. Lawrence has gotten a bye in the first round. Joe, 23, is a senior at St. Lawrence. He has 11 goals, 12 assists this season.
Brendan Harris of Las Vegas and the 45-9-4 BCHL Wenatchee Wild will open a best of seven playoff series vs the 25-27-4 Prince George Spruce Kings on Saturday, March 4. This game will be at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee, Washington. Brendan is in his final season with Wenatachee which is the #1 seed in the BCHL playoffs. Brendan has 23 goals, 75 assists for 98 points and has a scholarship in place next season with Bemidji State.

Las Vegas – Coach Gabe Gauthier’s WSHL Las Vegas Storm has set a record for wins, goals and is locked in for the playoffs. The Storm plays its final three regular season games this coming weekend beginning Friday, March 3 against the Phoenix Knights at the Arizona Ice Arena in Gilbert, Arizona.
Hometown players on the record-breaking Storm included Vegas Hockey’s Defenseman of the Year and All Heart Jake McKenna. Jake has played in a franchise-record 144 games in three seasons.

Moline, Illinois – Chris Francis, the captain of the ECHL Quad City Mallards, scored his 20th goal and added an assist in a 6-4 win over the Wichita Thunder before 3443 at the iWireless Arena on Sunday. Chris was selected the #2 Star of the Game for the Mallards who are 31-22-4 this season.
Manchester, New Hampshire – Cory Ward of Las Vegas had an assist for the ECHL Manchester Monarchs in a 7-2 loss to the Alaska Aces. Cory this season for Manchester has 12 goals, 18 assists. The crowd was 2975 at the SNHU Arena. It was raining during the game and rain is scheduled to keep falling for the next five days in this greater area.

Las Vegas coach Rob Pallin and HC TWK innsbruck of Austria open a best of seven playoff series on the road in Vienna tonight. “Interesting fact is our Innsbruck players have 900 AHL games compared to Vienna’s 1800 AHL games,” coach Rob said. “But remember this – every champion was once a contender who never gave up.”
“So very happy as well for Anthony Greener and the UNLV Rebels who are going to the U.S. Nationals,” said coach Rob.

Lakewood, Ca. – Gabe Gauthier’s WSHL Las Vegas Storm took 42-5-1 WSHL Long Beach Bombers into OT on Saturday night before losing 4-3 at the Glacial Gardens. All of the regulation game scoring was done in the third period, then Long Beach won in overtime. For Las Vegas, the Storm got a huge team point to help with their positioning in the upcoming playoffs.
“Tonight was an amazing game,” said Las Vegas coach Gabe Gauthier. “Our boys played so hard and overcame tremendous adversity. The Friday night game was great as well. Truly proud.”
The Storm got a tremendous effort from their premier goalie Spencer Kozlowski.

Boston – Joe Sullivan of Las Vegas and St. Lawrence University scored against #3 ranked Harvard in a 6-3 loss before 3095 at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Joe has 11 goals, 11 assists this season for #20 ranked St. Lawrence.
Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin – The season came to a close for Derek Sutliffe of Las Vegas and St. Scholastica-Minnesota in a 4-0 NCHA playoff loss to #4 nationally-ranked St. Norbert at the Cornerstone Community Center. The crowd was 896. St. Norbert, 20-5-1, advances in the tournament. Derek and St. Scholastica-Minnesota finished their season at 13-13-1. Derek had 11 goals, 10 assists this season.
Toledo – Gage Quinney of Las Vegas had an assist for the WSHL Wheeling Nailers in a tough 4-3 OT loss to in a road game against the WSHL Toledo Walleye. The crowd was announced as 8300 at the Huntington Center. Gage has 9 goals, 23 assists this season.
Bakersfield – Zach Pochiro of Las Vegas dealt an early-game assist and was +1 on the ice for the AHL Bakersfield Condors in a 3-1 win over the Stockton Heat. The crowd was 5638 at the Rabobank Arena.
