Las Vegas – On the eve of their biggest games this season GM/head coach Gabe Gauthier of the WSHL Las Vegas Storm announced the club has signed two players including a goal scorer from Sweden.

The Storm acquired goal scorer Melwin Thorson, 19, from the WSHL Springfield Express in Missouri.  Melwin, 19, is listed at 5’11, 165. He had seven goals, six assists with Springfield. He was a big goal scorer as a youth player in Sweden.

Also signed is defenseman Joshua Kirk, 18, from the NA3HL Glacier Nationals. He is 5’9, 200. The Glacier Nationals skate out of Havre, Montana.

“We didn’t trade anyone for these two new players,” Gauthier noted.

Las Vegas opens a three-game home series vs a very strong Valencia Flyers team beginning Thursday 7 pm at the Las Vegas Ice Center. Las Vegas has set a team record for most wins (21) and most team goals (200) this season. The Storm are qualified for the upcoming WSHL playoffs. Valencia has a record of 31-7-3 and has scored 201 goals this season.

Las Vegas has a record of 13-6-1 on home ice at the Las Vegas Ice Center.
