FROM THE BLUE LINE WITH LEE SAMUELS

//The last time the WSHL Utah Outliers were in town the team bus had to work through a blizzard of snow and ice for the Western States Shootout in December at the Las Vegas Center.  However, all was clear for the team to arrive for their game last night at the Ice Center.

//Alex Roth is a top player for the WSHL Las Vegas Storm. Last night his hockey Dad came in from Ft. Lauderdale to see him play. And – get this – two of Alex’ longtime hockey friends skate for the Utah Outliers. They are Alex and Brad McCloskey and they skated with Alex on all of his youth hockey teams in Florida.

//UNLV Rebels need to win against Cal State Northridge this weekend to protect their West #2 ranking.  The #1, #2 ranked Western teams go right to the U.S. Nationals. However, Cal State Northridge needs to win too – desperately. They are ranked West #11. Only the Top 10 ranked teams will advance to the playoffs.  All of this makes these weekend games so meaningful.
