Las Vegas – It’s cold, extremely windy and raining on Thursday evening in the Las Vegas Valley. Rough weather with wind gusts up to 60 mph have moved in resulting in damage to big rigs on the I-15 heading to Baker and Barstow along with  flight delays at McCarron Airport.

St. Paul, Minnesota – Hometown goalie Alex Stalock was spectacular in the net as Jason Zucker of Las Vegas and the NHL Minnesota Wild turned up the heat in a 5-1 win over the Ottawa Senators before a sold out crowd of 19,045 at the XCel Energy Center. Stalock, 29, was born in St. Paul and had a 1.77 gaa in his last 17 games with the AHL Iowa Wild before getting called up for a start with Minnesota. Jason worked hard on the ice and had a great skate throughout the game. He has 21 goals, 25 assists for 46 points and is +32 on the ice this season.

Wichita, Kansas –  Team captain Chris Francis of Las Vegas scored his 25th goal, added two assists and was selected #2 Star of the Game for the ECHL Quad City Mallards in a 4-1 road win over the Wichita Thunder at the InTrust Bank Arena. Chris lifted his season totals to 25 goals, 31 assists for 56 points – and he is +20 on the ice this season. The shots were 31-31 in this game.

Romeoville, Illinois –  Vito Carlo and Michael Cichy of Las Vegas and the NA3HL Atlanta Capitals will be taking on three top teams in the league’s Silver Cup Championships beginnning Wednesday here at the Canlan Ice Arena.

This is the league’s Final 8.

Here is the schedule for Vito, Michael and the Atlanta Capitals. Atlanta is 36-11-1 overall this season. All three teams they will face here were Division Champions during the regular season.

Wednesday – Final Score — St. Louis Blues 4, Atlanta Capitals 2 — Michael Cichy of Las Vegas one assist on a powerplay goal for Atlanta.

Thursday – Final Score –  Atlanta Capitals 3, Metro Jets of Fraser, Michigan 2 – Metro Jets were undefeated in regular season.

Friday – Final Score – Granite City of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota 6, Atlanta Capitals 2

Atlanta Capitals 1-2-0 in round robin play –  7 goals, 12 against – and the season winds to a close for Vito Carlo, Michael Cichy of Las Vegas.

Toledo, Ohio –  Zach Pochiro of Las Vegas scored a dramatic OT/Shootout goal to give the ECHL Norfolk Admirals a 3-2 road win over the Toledo Walleye before a massive crowd of 6245 at the Huntington Center. Zach was the only shooter who scored and he was selected the #1 Star of the Game.
