Moline, Illinois –  Chris Francis of Las Vegas scored his 26th goal for the ECHL Quad City Mallards who were out-shot 41-27 but won 4-2 over the Alaska Aces before a big crowd of 4672 at the iWireless Center on Saturday night. It was a game Alaska dearly wanted to win. The Aces, Utah Grizzlies and Missouri Mavericks are battling for the final two playoff spots in their division. Chris and the Mallards are 40-25-2 and locked in for a playoff spot.

Manchester, New Hampshire – Cory Ward of Las Vegas had an awesome game – one goal, one assist and a #2 Star of the Game –  for the ECHL Manchester Monarchs who beat the Elmira Jackals 5-2. The crowd was 5485 at the SNHU Arena. Cory, in his first season of professional hockey, has 16 goals, 20 assists for 36 points. Cory and Manchester appears to be good for a playoff spot but it’s not quite official yet. Outside the rink doors tonight it was clear, cold with a low of 29-degrees in the forecast.
