Burlington, Vermont – Ashley Printzen of Las Vegas and the AAA Detroit Bell Tire 16u girls team open their season here on Friday, September 1. Belle Tire will take on the Boston Shamrocks in the opening game of the NAHA Tournament at the Leddy Park Arena, 8 am. Later in the day Ashley and Belle Tire will take on AAA Stoney Creek 16u.

Las Vegas – If you want to see the new revved up UNLV Rebels get over to the new City National Ice Arena this Friday, September 1.
UNLV head coach Anthony Greener said there will be a 15 x 15 scrimmage which begins 7 pm.
“We plan to split up our players. It will be a great game. We have a lot of talent,” Greener said.
UNLV will rotate three goalies including Alex Feese, Ben Giesbrecht and Mike McDaniels. A hometown player, freshman Joseph Kaszupski of Henderson, Nevada, will make his Rebels debut as a center. Joseph played the last two seasons with NCAA Division lll Endicott College which is located near Boston.
UNLV has signed a number of new players as the team has shifted its program to a higher level of play in ACHA D1 for 2017-18.

At last it’s time for hockey. The Las Vegas Jr Golden Knights High School team opens its season this weekend in SoCal. The Jr Golden Knights practice and play their home games at the Las Vegas Ice Center.

Nanjing, China – Cody Printzen, 17, of Las Vegas has scored four times to help the Team USA inline roller team win three of four games and advance in the AAU International Championships here in China. This week Team USA 17u beat Australia 7-2 (Cody 1 goal, 1 assist) then scored a 5-1 win over China Taipei (Cody 3 goals), 1-0 over New Zealand before losing to 6-4 to the Czech Republic. Now Cody and Team USA will go into the playoff round and take on Italy, the #1-ranked team from Pool B.
Cody last season played tier ice hockey for the Micah Sanford-coached AAA Nevada Storm 16u team.
