Tempe, Arizona – Joe Kaszupski scored 2 goals, Jake Saxe one and goalie Ben Giesbrecht was strong in the net in UNLV’s stunning 3-1 road win over ASU at the Oceanside Arena to open the season. It was UNLV’s debut game in ACHA Division 1.

UNLV head coach Anthony Greener said “Kuzy and our goalie Ben played unreal when we needed them to. Lots to work on but such a great win.”

Giesbrecht, 6’1″ and 210, last season played for AJHL Olds Grizzlys in the Alberta Junior Hockey League in Canada.

Bas Assaf had two assists and Cody Williams, Elijiah Barriga and Kaszupski also had assists.

Las Vegas – The UNLV Rebels will gear up at 6 am on Friday and head to Tempe, Arizona for a season-opening two-game weekend. UNLV will open its season vs ASU on Friday 8 pm, then play again Saturday 7 pm. Both games will be at the Oceanside Arena.
