Tempe, Arizona – Joe Kaszupski’s dramatic late game goal lifted UNLV to a 3-2 win over Arizona State here Saturday night at Oceanside Arena. It was Kaszupski’s 4th goal this weekend.

UNLV led 2-0 going into the third period getting tremendous play from goalie Ben Giesbrecht for the second straight night. ASU rallied to tie the game 2-2 in the third period which set up Kaszupski’s dramatic game winning goal with 4:53 to go.

UNLV played in it first time in ACHA D1 and swept the weekend series.

UNLV head coach Anthony Greener said “overall a great weekend and definitely a huge step for our program. These were our first road wins, a weekend sweep and they were wins against a ranked team. There are a lot of positives here but again there is a lot of work to do.”

Tempe, Arizona – UNLV’s new restructured team with speed, power and top goaltending – is looking to sweep ASU in Game Two of a weekend series tonight at the Oceanside Arena. UNLV won here Friday night 3-1 in their ACHA D1 debut.

UNLV goalies tonight will be Ben Giesbrecht and Erik Eidissen.

“The keys to this game on Saturday night is do the little things right, play simple, get out to a fast start,” said UNLV head coach Anthony Greener
