Las Vegas – In a staggering development players were told at practice on Thursday that their Storm junior hockey team is shutting down operations at the Las Vegas Ice Center.

GM/head coach Gabe Gauthier earlier rescheduled league games for this weekend with the WSHL Ontario Avalanche. However at practice on yesterday players were notified that the Storm – in its fourth year and coming off an awesome season setting team scoring records while going 25-22-3 would not be in action this coming season.

Some of the Storm’s best returning players include the gifted goal scorer Nikita Pintusov from Belarus, lightning-quick and super-skilled Melwin Thorrson, Vegas Hockey Defenseman of the Year Jake McKenna plus Tyler Brooks, who skated for the AAA Las Vegas Storm 16u last winter, are each looking to connect with other WSHL clubs.

Friday Update – The WSHL today removed Las Vegas from the Western Division standings.
