Fourth home game, fourth win – the Innsbruck sharks remain untouchable to their own audience and celebrate an impressive 7-1 success in the top game against Znojmo.

“I only deal with the game against Znojmo and so do my players.” Head coach Rob Pallin had quickly cleared the departure of striker Jesse Mychan. Much more was the whole focus of the knockout game for second place against the strong guests from the Czech Republic. And his proteges should make him equal. Tyler Spurgeon and Co. took the command after a good five minutes and showed a refreshing game. In seven minutes the emerging pressure was finally rewarded. Mitch Wahl finished a wonderful move over Andrew Clark and Anderw Yogan. And now the work in the game of the sharks should begin to run properly. Andrew Clark and John Lammers failed a little later on 2-0. On the other side the Tyroleans stayed in the defense hellwach, Znojmo had little to order.

In the second section the guests from Czech Republic set a course, keeping the game visually open. In the first ten minutes, Znojmo now also had more games, but great opportunities remained lackware. And the few high-caliber players parried the former Znojmo goalie Patrik Nechvatal with bravura. And so the sharks in the second half of the middle section showed themselves mercilessly efficient. At first, Kevin Wehrs was dusted from six meters, before Mitch Wahl had a wonderful power-play match (34). And now the sharks were right “on fire”, captain Tyler Spurgeon increased again, only a minute later to 4: 0. After 40 minutes the match was already decided.

In the final third the Tyroleans then had to pay a lot of minutes. After Sacha Guimond missed a Shorthander with a 3: 4-Unterzahl it was then so far. Colton Yellowhorn shortened to 1: 4.

As a result, the Czechs remained on the pusher, but the sharks continued to be consistent in the defense. Patrik Nechvatal also made a good contribution to the success with two beautiful parades. When John Lammers with a full shot under the bar to 5: 1 was the spell finally broken. Hunter Bishop with 6: 1 and Mitch choice with his third goal in the end made for jubilant mood in the Tyrolean water power arena. With 7: 1, the Innsbruckers conjured up a true home gala on the ice.

Already tomorrow is waiting for the sharks a very difficult task. The record champion is waiting in Klagenfurt.
