Boulder, Colorado – Cody Williams of #12 ranked UNLV scored three times to help #12 ranked UNLV work to an early lead and beat #8 ranked Colorado 6-2 tonight on their home ice at the CU Rec Center. UNLV’s star goalie Ben Giesbrecht was in the net.

UNLV’s top goal scorer Ellijiah Barriga had two goals.

UNLV, in is first season playing in the ACHA D1, raised its season record to 15-5-0. Colorado is now 16-5-1. 

UNLV head coach Anthony Greener said afterwards “…we all played as a team and used our systems and limited turnovers playing a simple-type game. Cody Williams and his linemate had a great game. Chase Torontow was by far our best d-man. Huge win for the boys.

“Like I told our players during the game let’s play with a new style of swag and moxie. We should walk into a building and know we will not be out-worked and we are going to run teams over,” Greener added.

On Friday UNLV heads to Colorado State to begin a two-game weekend series.
