Columbus, Ohio – Now, in Game Two, it’s crunch time for the UNLV Rebels who take on a top team – #4 seed Ohio University at the Chiller Rinks on Friday 1 pm eastern at the ACHA D1 Nationals.
UNLV rubbed out Drexel University by six goals yesterday but is now facing a much better skilled team.
Ohio had a 25-9-1 record this season and outscored teams 157-83. Two of the wins were over UNLV in October by scores of 3-1, 7-1. Both of those game were road games for UNLV.
“First thing is we have to match their speed,” said UNLV head coach Anthony Greener. “We need to play good in our end and protect Benny (Rebels goalie Ben Giesbrecht). We need to be better in the neutral zone too without turnovers.
“It’s going to a dogfight for sure,” Greener said.
The Rebels will use the same lineup as yesterday.
“No changes,” Greener said.
The original field of 20 teams is down to 16 teams – four were eliminated yesterday.
