Las Vegas – Nick Robone, the great UNLV player and coach from Las Vegas, tonight formally introduced Gerard Gallant as the “NHL Coach of the Year” at The Joint inside of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Gallant, 54, amazingly took the expansion NHL Vegas Golden Knights to a 51-24-7 record which included eliminating the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Winnipeg Jets in the playoffs before taking on the Washington Capitals for the Stanley Cup. The NHL Golden Knights played before sold out crowds all season at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
