Tempe, Arizona – Unbeaten UNLV goalie Ben Giesbrecht, 3-0-0 this season, will get the start for the Rebels when they take on Arizona State at Oceanside Ice Arena on Friday night.

Big Ben – 6’1″ and 240 – last season had 14 starts with a 2.21 gaa and a 91.6% save percentage. Ben, 21, is a top big-game athlete who is from Vancouver, B.C.¬†

This is an ACHA D1 game. UNLV has a 5-1 record, ASU is 3-8-1. Two of UNLV’s wins were against ASU earlier this season on home ice at the City National Arena in Las Vegas.

UNLV Rebels head coach Anthony Greener said top goal scorer Cody Williams is not available in Game One of this two-game weekend series. The top line will be tweaked – Bryce Woodward, Joe Kaszupski and D’Andre John (replacing Cody W). Bas Assaf and Eric Williams ‘will be on the point defensively” per coach Greener.
