Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada – Erik Atchinson, 16, of Las Vegas scored his first goal for the Spokane Chiefs in an 8-2 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders before a crowd of 2768 in a Western Hockey League (WHL) game at the famous Art Hauser Centre on Saturday night. Erik is the youngest Las Vegas player to ever score in the WHL.
After Erik scored a Spokane linemate went to the net to retrieve the puck. First goal pucks are treasured by goal scorers.
Erik is listed at 6’0, 180. He played the last two seasons in the AAA Arizona Bobcats program, first with the bantam team and then with the tier 16u team.
The Spokane Chiefs have a 6-3-3 record this season. The Prince Albert Raiders are now 11-1-1.
