UNLV’S ULTIMATE ROAD CHALLENGE
By Lee Samuels
Tucson – To be the best, you have to beat the best. Which is what the UNLV Rebels are facing when they take on #7-ranked University of Arizona here Saturday 1 pm at the Tucson Event Center.
Arizona is 17-4-0 overall including its 10-1-0 record on home ice here.
UNLV, 13-4-0 and ranked #13 nationally, is coming off two road wins over ASU but will face a bigger, stronger challenge in this two-game series.
UNLV coach Anthony Greener said “…we are definitely in for a change of pace – Arizona brings speed and skill and plays with a physical force. We have to be ready for this. We’re definitely up to this task against them.”
Let’s take a look at Arizona’s last five games:
University of Arizona
3-0 over Mississippi State
3-0 over ASU
4-0 over ASU
2-4 to Grand Canyon
11-2 over Grand Canyon
Arizona’s top scorer is Bayley Marshall with 16 goals, 24 assists. He has scored eight of those goals on powerplays.
UNLV is planning to start Ben Giesbrecht, a sensational goalie with a tremendous skillset, in this game Saturday.
