Special to Vegas Hockey

It’s hard to believe but QB Tom Brady will be playing in his 9th NFL Super Bowl in Atlanta on Sunday, Feb 3.  Brady and the New England Patriots will take on the Los Angeles Rams.  The Patriots are about a 2 1/2 point favorite. But who will win…our Vegas Hockey experts know….here are the initial picks including some from former Vegas Hockey champions in picking a Super Bowl winner.

=============================================

Steve Allen, Las Vegas hockey dad of the great Jason Allen who played on AAA Las Vegas tier teams, AAA LA Kings and AAA San Diego Jr Gulls years ago. Steve is a former champion of picking a Super Bowl pick winner here on Vegas Hockey: “This is actually a tough one to pick – however, here we go – Patriots 28, Rams 21. Too much experience with Belichick and Brady.”

Rosie Carlo – her hockey son Vito plays for the NA3HL Atlanta Capitals – “As much as I hate to say it, my pick for the Super Bowl is the Patriots. I cannot see them losing it. Patriots will win 37-21.”

Arturo Castro, UNLV Director of Operations – “I’m a big Patriots guy and would love to see them win. I can also see them losing, as they did last year and as you know LA has a great team, so it wouldn’t be bad to see a new face win. Rams, 34-31.”

Richie Crossley – premier defenseman Vegas Jesters – Richie and Devin Lane were voted as Best Las Vegas Defensive Pair ever by a vote years ago here on Vegas Hockey: “I’m going to say the Patriots because let’s face it – Tom Brady is the best and the score will be Patriots by 42-35.”

Bethany Drysdale, star reporter, Vegas Hockey – “Oh gosh, Patriots win because I am a big fan of Gisele and she is married to Tom Brady. Other than that I don’t know much about either team. I gave up on the NFL some time ago. However, Patriots will win by 32-27.”

Matt Edlin, coaching the 2010 Vegas Jr Golden Knights Mites hockey teams this season. “Patriots won’t lose two Super Bowls in a row. Patriots win 42-40.”

Kim Gilliland, hockey mom from Billings, Montana who appeared in our 2018 holiday story Just in Time for Christmas – Shaggy the Golden One – “Lol. I have no idea really. I don’t watch football.”

Anthony Greener, head coach, UNLV Rebels and 2018 Vegas Hockey’s Coach of the Year – ‘I’ve learned you never bet against the Patriots and I am a big Green Bay Packers fan so it hurts to say this. The final score will be Patriots 38, Rams 30.”

Zach Jewby, defensemen who played years ago for coaches Eddie Samuels and Aaron Kinslow for WSHL Park City Moose in Utah – “I would love to see the Rams win but I believe the Patriots will win. Brady continues to prove he is still one of the best to ever do it. It is also tough to beat Belichick in the playoffs, much less the Super Bowl. I think the Patriots pull out the win – let’s go with Patriots 27, Rams 17.”

Aaron Kinslow, hockey coach – he and Eddie Samuels coached the WSHL Park City Moose years ago in Utah – “Rams will win 21-20 because we want to see someone else win. To all here, we now coach youth hockey in Fargo.

Matt  Johnson, tremendous hockey coach – with the AA Vegas Jr Golden Knights bantam 14u team – “Patriots 38, Rams 17. Tom and Bill’s first Super Bowl was against the Rams and if this is their last one and what better way to go out. A lot of factors can go into this game and quite frankly between Brady and Bellichick there is no one better with better preparation.”

Zee Khan, GM, UNLV Rebels – “Rams, because we are from LA and prefer them to win instead of Patriots! Final score – Rams 42-35.

Wally Lacroix, head coach AA Jr Vegas Golden Knights 16u – 2018 Vegas Hockey’s Coach of the Year – “Rams 35, Patriots 30. I believe the Rams will have a little better defense on that day.”

John McNicholas, great Vegas hockey dad and years ago a coach in Vegas youth hockey at the very beginning of the sport here in town. His son Michael McNicholas plays for the ECHL Maine Mariners. – “Pats win. Hard to bet against Tom Brady. The score will be 45-41.”

Steve Pochiro, hockey dad whose son Zach is a massive goal scorer for the ECHL Allen Americans in Texas – “Rams changing of the guard at QB – in with the new and out with the old. 37-34 Rams in OT. Goff takes Brady’s belt.”

Rob Profitt, GM, NAHL Fairbanks Ice Dogs – “Winners Win! Tom Brady is a winner! Patriots 28-24.”

Nick Robone, assistant coach UNLV Rebels and winner of many coaching, player and All Heart Awards on Vegas Hockey: “I am going against the grain in this one. Rams will win. I like their coach. He’s young and extremely intelligent. Rams 38-34.”

Tony Robone, famous Las Vegas hockey dad – “Wow this is a tough one. Heads say Patriots Heart. Lean slightly to Patriots due to their Super Bowl experience. The final score will be Patriots 30-24.”

Aimee Sanderson, Las Vegas hockey mom whose daughter Ash Printzen plays for AAA Detroit Honeybaked girls 19u and son Cody Printzen plays for the WSHL Fresno Monsters: “Unfortunately I think the Patriots will win and the score will be 24-10.”

Robbie Silvernail, former UNLV bigtime goal scorer – always working on the top line – “No clue, not really a football fan. However, Patriots and Tom Brady will bring it home, win the game.”

Pete Trimboli, Las Vegas hockey Dad – “Hopefully the Rams will win but Pats get there 35-31 because of Brady.

Evan Zucker – Premier Las Vegas goal scorer in ice and roller – a pure sniper whenever he was in shooting distance of the net, now coaching the game – “Here is the final score – Patriots 24, Rams 21.”

Scott Zucker, famous Las Vegas hockey dad and president of NAHA which governs the sport of youth hockey here in Nevada – “Patriots will win 31-13. And why is that – Tom Brady.”
