Las Vegas – See how all of that hard work in practices can pay sweet dividends. For UNLV freshman defenseman Jake McKenna, a highly decorated player in junior hockey, he did all of that and will get his first start for UNLV vs Utah University tonight at City National Arena. 

Jake, 21, played three seasons in a team record 146 games for the Gabe Gauthier-coached WSHL Las Vegas Storm which practiced and played home games at the Las Vegas Ice Center on Flamingo Avenue. When the Storm program shut down, Jake played for the WSHL Valencia Flyers.

He won many Vegas Hockey awards as a top d-man in junior hockey.

UNLV, ranked #12 in ACHA D1, vs Utah University has a 7 pm start time tonight.
