AA VEGAS JR GOLDEN KNIGHTS 16U SHUT DOWN AA NORTHWEST ADMIRALS TO ADVANCE TO GOLD MEDAL GAME ON MONDAY 10 AM

By Lee Samuels

Las Vegas – See what smart ultra skill play and tremendous goal-tending can do.

That is what the Wally Lacroix-coached AA Jr Golden Knights 16u – the Golden Ones – found out when they battled through choppy waters at both ends of the ice to beat the larger hulking AA Northwest Admirals by 5-0 on the North Rink of the Las Vegas Ice Center on Sunday night. The Jr Golden Knights swarmed about in their organized structure to work past the physicality and roughness from the Admirals.

And just before this game the very skilled and fast AA Texas Tigers 16u had to work through a swamp of extremely rough play to beat the Palm Beach  Hawks to take a ride to the gold medal game.

So here we have what winning gold medals are all about – the best two teams AA Vegas Jr Golden Knights and the Texas Tigers will play for the President’s Day Tournament crown on Monday here at the Las Vegas Ice Center.

It was Las Vegas sniper Chase McCrossan who got it all started on Sunday night when skated hard toward the Admirals net and ignited an explosive top shelf blast of a shot which scored the first goal for the Vegas Jr Golden Knights.

Later Micah Williamson took off on a blue-streak high speed sprint to score a decisive goal.

And, the Jr Golden Knights got another tremendous game from big game goalie Zachary Ortolano.

It was all good for the home team.

Now the AA Vegas Jr Golden Knights must deal with the explosive AA Texas Tigers on Monday, 10 am, for the gold.

From the Blue Line – Is it me or does Heath Mensch play an awesome game whenever he is on the ice – like, every shift….That’s Harris Whissel keeping cool when skating deep into danger zones on the ice….Zachary Ortolano is an awesome goalie. He has a big future in the sport of hockey.
