Las Vegas – Gabriel Testa, who has been in big games and has had plenty of junior hockey experience, has signed to play with the WSHL Las Vegas Thunderbirds this season. The Thunderbirds will practice and play home games at the SoBe Ice Arena on North Rancho Drive. Gabriel, 19, has played for the WSHL Fresno Monsters, NA3HL Long Beach Sharks in New York and the GMHL South Muskoka Shield in Canada.

At a brunch today coach Rob Pallin of Las Vegas was asked “who were the toughest players you ever coached here in the city.”

It didn’t take long for coach Rob to respond.

Pallin listed three players:

Sean Darby

Sean Fox

Nick Jackson

“They each played a very very hard game and wore down opposing teams,” Pallin said. “You need these kinds of high compete players to help your more skilled forwards get to the net and score in the big games.”

Battle Creek, Michigan – Adam Stio of Las Vegas is the GM of a new hockey franchise – the Battle Creek Rumble Bees in the Federal Prospects League.

“We obviously bee-lieve in what we will be doing in Battle Creek this season,” Adam said at a press conference here this week.

The team will be play at The Rink in Battle Creek. Other teams in their division will be the Carolina Thunder, Columbus River Dragons, Danville Dashers and the Port Huron Prowlers.

For players and goalies looking for a roster spot with Battle Creek Adam said “we’re looking for aged out junior hockey and college players who want to start a professional career.”
