“There is a process underway in which we’ve been asked by five of the western-based NHL teams to work with them to eventually create a Western Division, a Pacific Division in our league,” AHL president David Andrews told hockey writer Brendan McCarthy in The Telegram, St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.

Andrews did not list the teams. There is said to be two NHL teams – the Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks – interested in relocating an AHL affiliate team to The Orleans Arena, Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas in 2015-16. This is in the talking stages, nothing confirmed.
