South Bend, Indiana – Micah Williamson of Las Vegas scored a historic OT goal on a breakaway to lift the AA Vegas Jr Golden Knights 14u bantams to a 2-1 win over the Oklahoma City Oil Kings today at the first day of the USA Hockey Nationals. Micah fired a shot low, glove side for the game-breaker.

The Matt Johnson-coached Vegas team got the first goal from Keegan Morse. Keegan’s game-tying goal was on a rebound, blocker side. Kevin Hanly and Kenneth Curtis had assists on Keegan’s goal.

Jonathan Ng was in the net for the Vegas Jr Golden Knights.

Coach Matt Johnson said…

“Relieved, that’s how we felt. We outplayed and outworked the other team. We deserved to win, but didn’t bury our earlier chances and left them hanging around. Then all it takes is for one bounce and momentum shifts.

“I was really proud how we came back after being down 1-0 and continued to fight.

“Every game here is a must win. So it was nice to learn this lesson early.”
